OK!.. Now I'm finished.. just made some changes,, lowered the clouds, bubble lines in the road, changed the white wall with ice cream on it... A bit of a workout but its finished... I think.... This was based from my little 6x8 inch painting that I posted last week... I knew I would do a larger version of it... This is it, a 30x36 inch oil on gallery wrapped canvas.. I still need some time with her to know really understand all that is going on in this painting..... Once I'm satisfied, I can sign it... Another for my summer show complete ... Checkout what will be in the "Show"
((Sold)
Heading back to LA on a weekend just in-time to say hello to Riverside traffic, the saving grace was to be traveling with this fantastic sunset as my guide.. My final painting for the Laguna show.. This is an oil on canvas 24x20...

The sound of the surf against the the fiery sky set the mood for this painting.. Pushing color, exaggerate the horizon, position the viewer to be standing in the wave like I was, texture the sand.. And I have a new painting... The size is 36x36 gallery wrapped like all of my canvass..
It is a countdown before I stop my canvas works for this two month long show, maybe I can get one more... Maybe?... This Sunday the 27 I paint my booth, put up the track lighting, cabinet, then on Monday, security is on the grounds and all artwork can be hung. from a "125" artists .. All of my blog paintings will be there along with (12) new canvas paintings... July 3 is a black tie opening, invitation only... I will take some photos to post on this event.. There are two of us at the show (Myself & Susan Cox ) that are part of the DP.. We will be hipping the Daily Painter's sight so hopefully we can all benefit.... Opening night should have about 1,500 to 2,000 people.. It is a catered affair with two bars plus the wine that each artist has in there booths... It is quite the night.. After that there are about 2,500 people that come to see art and the famous "Pageant of the Masters" every night for two months... Yes! that many show up even in this economy... Enjoy, I will stay in touch...

"SAIL-AWAY"

This is, I think, maybe my last painting for the up-coming "Laguna Arts Festival" It is an oil on canvas, size: 40"x20".. this just came together so smoothly that I had to stop and take a long look.. Sometimes paintings just flow, no resistants of applying the oils or thought of what comes next...
I started at the top and worked my way down, signed it, added my chop mark and walked away...
See you at the show..

"OPENING DAY FROM 2008"

The Party... The above shots are at the beginning of this wonderful opening of this two month long art show.... There was about 3500 people that showed up for this.... Sales where made, artists where happy.... It was a ball.. The next day I went to work scoring my fellow artists work as I am one of the jurors for this years show... It was difficult as all of the work is really great and I know that someone is going to be cut from next years show, so I take this very seriously in looking at everything about there work.... That being said, I must say my blog paintings have been very will received and I can no longer price them like I did as it would not be fair to my new clients..
Back to work I go and I should be posting some new blog paintings starting next week.... PS.. I talked all of us up that are a part of the DPs and sent countless people to look at what we are about and doing.. Hope there are new contacts for all....

"THE HORBOR" 40"X40"

Hello my collectors. Here it is again, the Festival of the Arts in (5) more months "Seventy Sixth" year of bringing the arts to you and the world. I am once again proud to be a part of this most magnificent of events. This time I am a juror in this years show and that should be fun to really look at my fellow artists and there work. In the coming weeks I will be posting my paintings that will be on display for the two months starting July 6 to Aug 30... I have been painting most diligently to produce some of my best works to date.
I am still talking about the skies in my paintings, but I have pushed the envelope by giving the lands a deeper richness and the skies even greater volume. I have fifteen new paintings that I will rotate and there will be from two to four displayed at any one time. I will also have my 6"x6" sky paintings on wood for you to see. I am very exited about this upcoming event and I look forward to seeing there. Please stop at my booth to chat and to have a glass of wine.

So, come "Celebrate" by joining me and my fellow artists in this awesome setting. The show runs from July 6 to Aug 30, from 10am to 11pm. and I thank you for your kind support.

"A STATE OF MIND"

The newest of paintings for the Laguna show this summer. I wanted the viewer to be able to wonder in this dream like setting. I have things that are close-up so one can move in and around, up and over feeling the air and wetness of the grasses.. Just beyond the hills lies the sea up north in California. Oil on canvas 64"x20"
